Seems like months and months since this was first arranged but it finally took place today.

Play started at 12.30pm and finished about 4.30pm. A total of 55 frames were played.

The final score:

Cardiff Ladies Select 36 19 Wales B Ladies

Two of the original Cardiff side chosen (Marion Hughes & Cath McKenna)were unable to make it on the day due to family illness, two others due to a birthday barbecue (Sam Poynter & Debbie Carpenter) which meant we only had 10 players.
Claire Dempster was kind enough to fill in and play for us.
The successful Cardiff team was, (alphabetical):

Natalie Bunce
Dawn Covill
Sam Darker
Kirsty Davies
Claire Dempster
Vicky Dwyer
Michelle Emery
Jo Jones
Mandy Palmer
Trisha Parker (Captain)
Rachel Whiley

Player of the match for Cardiff was young Kirsty Davies who won 5 out of 5.
Shes only 14, but shes a star in the making and dont be surprised to be hearing her name a lot in the future.

Wales B player of the match was Michelle Jackson. Dare I say another star!!

A few thank yous now:

Firstly a big thank you to Rileys City Road for the free use of the venue and the free buffet they provided us with.
Donna the manageress is off sick at the moment but Jo the Assistant Manageress looked after us all day, nothing was too much trouble.

Secondly to Jon Crook for the lovely trophies and plaques he gave both teams.

I must personally thank all the girls that turned out today for Cardiff and helped make this a really good day.
Sam Darker came all the way from Weston to play for us.
You were all great and played exceptionally well, thank you.

Last but certainly not least, many, many thanks to Ilona and the girls of the Wales B team for coming to Cardiff and playing us.
We all had a great day and look forward to playing your team again next year.

I have been asked by the Cardiff team to contact the Wales A Ladies manager and arrange a friendly with them. Watch this space.
